1:18pm: So
My sister... the good one... I mean, the really super good one...

She has this boyfriend.
Now this is her first real boyfriend, I think, and she's totally head over heels as well she should be with her first boyfriend....

Anywho, she told us that he was 21.  By told us, I mean, my other sister found about him, and my youngest sister told.

Fast forward a bit... b/c I"ll tell the meeting him story later...

Come to find out today, by means of myspace stalking...

that this kid is actually 24, not 21.  Not only is he 24, he's about to turn 25.

My sister turned 18 on May 2nd.

They've been dating since Christmas.

He wanted to ask her out for  a few months before that, but was too scared to.

My question is:
Who votes that me and my siblings curb stomp his ass?

On one hand, I totally want to.  This is my baby sister.  The good one!

On the other hand... my other sister was a senior in high school (though a few months older) when she started dating her guy, and he's the same age as the youngest sister's guy.

I mean, when I was 19, I think I messed around with a 30 year old or something like that...

And my youngest sister in many ways is very mature for a soon to be high school graduate.

Question is...
what to do... what to do...

Meh.

Sometimes
I hate my life.

10:49am: Hey there Yoopie
So I got these wierd little muffinesque things from Trader Joes... and I'm going to figure out therecipe.  The main ingredient is wheat bran, and it's sweetened with fruit juice.  One tiny little90 calorie muffin packs 13 grams of fiber.

Nice.

I'll figure out the recipe...

10:29am: STILL

I am still working out like a fiend.  I have to do something light tonight, and I"m not sure what it will be.  pretty sure I might just take a nice long walk, or something.  that would be nice.  I'm going to be running sprints tomorrow so I need to rest up a bit for it.
But yesterday I did 40 minutes of HIT cardio, and an hour and 15 of yoga, mostly slow flow last night.
and on Sunday, I did half an hour of really HIT cardio...

AND I've been still climbing stairs at work.  I work on the 16th floor, so I hate it just as much each and every time.

My legs are sore.  And I want to eat all the freaking time.  I've been SOOOOO hungry, and I"m trying to keep my calories down, and it's NOT working out well, b/c my body has been really craving protein and carbs b/c of all this crap.

Meh.

AND I know I've gained weight.

Double meh.

10:05am: A Dear Abby that I loved!

EVERYDAY KINDNESS IS SECRET OF MARRIAGES FULL OF ROMANCE

DEAR ABBY: I would like to respond to "Kelly in Austin" (March 24), who wondered if there were more than two men who excel at romance.

Abby, my husband has given me a total of four pieces of jewelry throughout our 13-year relationship. However, he has given me many intangibles that mean far more.

I have a best friend I can talk to and trust. I have a lover who cares for me and my needs. I have a husband who believes in and abides by the vows we took on our wedding day. I have a provider who works hard to assure my financial stability, not just for today, but also for the future.

My children have a father who loves them and makes sure they know it through his words and actions. And I have a partner for life who does "romantic" things like changing diapers, rocking babies, washing dishes and holding my hand.

In generations past, men were expected to be strong, gentle and responsible. I thank God that my husband has chosen to be that kind of man. -- BELOVED

DEAR BELOVED: You are a lucky woman who married a real gem. A life partner with attributes like your husband's is a jewel more precious than any stone that nature could create. Read on:

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have been married 15 years, and my heart still skips a beat when I see him. We have a little piece of paper with I LOVE YOU written on it, and we take turns hiding it somewhere for each other to find. It shows up in my wallet, in the book I'm reading, in the laundry. It never fails to brighten my day, and it costs us not one cent.

He brings me coffee in the morning and a cup of tea at night. He'll surprise me with a candy bar or a cookie when I'm feeling down. Expensive jewelry isn't what makes a romance -- it's my darling taking a moment to let me know he's thinking of me. -- TINA IN CHINCOTEAGUE, VA.

DEAR ABBY: When my fiance and I first got together, he told me that he didn't celebrate Valentine's Day. He claimed that he "did his thing" all year -- and it's true. He leaves cards in my book bag scented with his cologne and sings to me on my voicemail at work on dreary Monday mornings. He writes me poems and buys me spontaneous gifts. No jewelry commercials can compete with a gift from the heart. -- SWEPT OFF MY FEET IN MEMPHIS

DEAR ABBY: I have been happily married for more than 10 years, and it hasn't been because of diamonds, flowers or trips to bed-and-breakfasts. We're happy because we laugh together, because we like each other, and because he was considerate enough to buy me a hands-free cell phone device to use while driving back and forth between our home and my father's. It's because he knows what scent of candle to buy me from a kid's fundraiser and because he thought I needed a new lunch box for work and got me one.

This is real life. Diamond commercials on the television are not. -- RITA IN DUBOIS, PA.

DEAR ABBY: My parents have been married 45 years, and the most romantic gesture I ever saw took place about 10 years ago. One day, while she was digging in the garden, I saw my dad standing there, hovering over her with a can of wasp spray, ready to blast any potential threat into eternity if it got near Mom. Now that's better than a diamond any day. -- SAM IN PALATINE, ILL.

If you search for killer_mongoose on google... that vampire profile... totally NOT. ME.

PS.  Brownie points for anyone who can tell me my five favorite children's books.  HINT: 2 of them are Dr. Seuss, and at least 2 of them were not first written in English.

ALSO... the BFF is the greatest.  She's working out too.  It really makes it easier for me.  And we're going to be the two hottest kids on the playground.

9:10am: All Sorts of News on the Courtney Front
So my Doc (actually the other Doc in her practice.  She's out of town till July.)  So THE Doc yelled at me, told me I wasn't excersizing enough, and that I was eating too much.  That was Monday.  REMIND TO TELL THAT STORY LATER...

So anyhow... I upped the excersize... I must keep this pace.  Once I get past the 2 week hump, I'll be okay.  So what did I do this week you ask?

Monday - Spinning (1hr)
Tuesday - Spinning (1hr), Yoga(1.5hr)
Wednesday - Gardening(45min), Crosstrainer(35min, 5 mi, almots 500 cal)
Today - Going to get good running shoes, and going running
Tomorrow - Not jack.  It's my b'day.
Saturday - Going with the BFF so she can get a bike, Going to Quantico to check out Marines, I mean... lift weights, and do the elliptical.
Sunday - Prolly power yoga in the morning.  I might also do that Sat.

THOUGH, my Doc said yoga doesn't count.  But he has never done power yoga.  And I do need ONE day that's not balls to the wall High Intensity Cardio.  Of course, he also tried to say that Spinning didn't count, or the cross trainer, and that only running counted.  THEN he asked me, do you just not like running, or do you HATE it?  And I said: It hurts my knees if I do it too much, so there!  And he said HE had to get back on the schedule he put me on.... so next time I go, I'm going to give him hell.

Anyhow... will tell about the Doc's appt later.

ALSO... Going to get put on Chantix.  Filling the subscription tomorrow.

Chantix=Smoking=Puking

oh yeah.  And today I walked down and up the stairs.  This may not seem impressive... but I work on the 16th floor.

9:35am: Foods, and other stuffs....
This is going to take a while, and will likely be written in pieces, because I"m really busy today, and well... I made some amazing food, and some good stuff happened....

 SOooooooOOoooo.... Amazing Good Food

Open Faced Sandwich.
Sweet Potato Cakes on Sourdough Toast w/ baby spinach and Sping mix, topped with vinagrette

Vinagrette (Make this before hand and let sit)
1/4 cup of red wine vinager
4 teaspoons of olive oil
1 crushed garlic clove
pinch of sugar
pinch of salt
a generous grinding of pepper

Sweet Potato Cakes
Cook 2 small sweet potatos in the microwave till done.  let cool.
Sautee half a sweet onion until browned.  Put on paper towels to cool.
Mash potatoes, Mix w/ onions and a pinch of salt, and make into patties.
Press then.  Cook on Med-high heat until heated through.

Meanwhile, toast some sourdough w/ a little bit of butter (I used smart balance)
Put the patties on the toast,
Top with fresh baby spinach, and spring mix
Spinkle dressing on all

NOTE:  If you use something like Earth Balance on the toast, this would easily be Vegan
END RESULT: next time, I"m going to add some garlic to the sweet onion, and a bit of cayenne pepper to the patties.  I will also make the patties thinner, and cook on higher heat so that they are crisp on the outside, more like pancakes.

Vegan Non Fat High Fiber Brownies
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup finely ground psyllium husks
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cocoa powder
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy milk (or other milk substitute)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Mix all dry ingredients together
Add wet ingredients
Mix until throughly mixed
Bake for 28 minutes or so or until done

NOTE:  I also topped this with a light sprinkling of vegan miniture chocolate chips
END RESULT: A bit spongy, but yummy

OTHER GOOD NEWS:
My dad has a job.  Pretty sweet actually.  Someone had church suggested him to someone else in the church, and he was a bit worried about his background, but he went to the interview, fessed up, and all dude said was "If God can forgive you, then who am I to hold it against you?"  And then put my Dad to work immediately.
We don't know how long it will last.  It's sort of a semi temporary thing, but it's doing carpentry work and the like, so he should have fun.

9:31am: Shuckins...
Did a spinning class last night... and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it.

My ass has never hurt so bad in my life.

The lady who ran the class said there are actually muscles back there that you don't really use, which is why, us adults, when we get on a bicycle, it hurts our um... nether regions.

Anyhow, she says it will never hurt as bad as the first time, as long as I keep it up.... and since it's an hour of pretty sweet cardio, AND it's way gentler on my knees and ankles than other cardio...  AND I have to lose closer to 40 pounds than 30 because I"m a fucking cow...

Well,

I think I"ll keep it up.

It's time for the new push.

I'm going to start spinning classes at my gym, and go back to Yoga, and take a Pilates class, I think.  As well as my weight training, and my general activiness.  It's time to take it to a new level.  It's April; Summer is soon; I am a fat cow.

I'm stripping 99 percent of the Dairy out of my life.  I think I'm a little lactose intolerant... plus, I want to start moving towards being mostly Vegan.
If I can get rid of most of the cheese and chocolate, I think I"ll be doing okay.
